Pesta Ubin is happening from 4 June to 25 June 2022! This year's theme is "The Ubin COMMONS" as we hope to support and preserve the unique community and to bring all Organising Groups, Villagers, and the Public to come together to celebrate the best of Pulau Ubin.


What's happening at Pesta Ubin?
Many Pesta Ubin activities are free of charge. Simply come to Pulau Ubin and join the fun! Find a Pesta Ubin activity that suits your schedule and interest! Don't say Bo Jio!

What're in the mystery boxes?! Touch and feel, learn more about our marine life with Young Nautilus!


Have you ever seen a taxidermized Sea Turtle Specimen or felt how a Seahorse or Sharks’ eggs feel like? Have you heard of how Seahorses are sold as dried medicines even though they have not been proven to be medically beneficial for our health?

Play a little game at our interactive booth to touch and learn more about these amazing animals, and find out the dangers that they are facing due to our actions! Curious about local biodiversity in Singapore? Find out more about Young Nautilus’ Nature walks from our friendly educators!

4 Jun (Sat): FREE Appreciating Ubin's Natural Heritage (For families) by Cicada Tree Eco-Place

Come listen to stories of wildlife at Ubin. Thereafter, go on a nature-guided walk along Jalan Ubin to look at what the villagers are growing in their gardens, and to look for the wildlife that visits these gardens. Families will get to create a simple nature craft to remember their time at Ubin.

11 Jun (Sat): FREE Pesta Ubin: Nature and Land Use Walk by Lepak in SG

Want to know more about the history of Ubin? Join Lepak as they bring you around Ubin to share about the biodiversity that calls Ubin home, as well as how civil society fought for the conservation of Chek Jawa 20 years ago. They'll also touch on the various land-uses at Ubin over time, and the future of Ubin according to the latest land use plans.

11 Jun (Sat): FREE Xplore Ubin by Nature Kakis x Temasek Polytechnic's Green Interest Group [FULL]

Join Nature Kakis x Temasek Polytechnic's Green Interest Group as they bring you around Pulau Ubin, exploring different parts of places using Map Grid Reading (MGR)! You get to enjoy and play different kinds of kampung games and visit different places such as Puakka Hill, Ah Mah Drink Store, Wei Tuo Fa Gong Temple, Kampung Durian, Teck Seng Place, and many more!*

11 Jun (Sat): FREE Birdwatching at Pulau Ubin by NParks x Nature Society Singapore (NSS) Jacky

During these walks, we will look out for island specialities including the Oriental Pied Hornbill, Red Junglefowl, White-rumped Shama, and the globally critically endangered Straw-headed Bulbul.  

Experienced birdwatchers from the Nature Society (Singapore) Bird Group will guide two walks at Pulau Ubin:

1)    Bird Walk 1 on Sat, 11 June, from Chek Jawa to the Volunteer Hut.

2)    Bird Walk 2 on Sat, 18 June, from Nature Gallery to Sensory Trail and Pekan Quarry.  

Both activities will start at 7.30 am and will last three hours taking participants through different areas of the Ubin countryside.

18 Jun (Fri): FREE Vertebrate Guided Walk by NParks x Vertebrate Study Group

Calling out families with young boys and girls! Come join us for a night walk in Pulau Ubin and experience the dusk hours in the forest and the animals that dwell in it. Led by our friends at the Vertebrate Study Group (VSG) who have lots to share about the wildlife, conservation, and Pulau Ubin.

Things to bring (For confirmed participants):
- Long pants and shirt
- Close toed shoes
- Headlight/ torchlight
- Mosquito repellent (Optional)

18 Jun / 25 Jun (Sat): FREE Pedal Ubin 2022 with NUS Toddycats

NUS Toddycats is back with their event Pedal Ubin this year! Join them for a free relaxing ride around Pulau Ubin on Saturday, 18th June or 25th June 2022.

You will visit old plantations, kampongs, forest, quarries and mangroves, stop for a coconut drink or two and enjoy the stories of Ubin’s wildlife, heritage and ongoing conservation efforts. 

Please register individually for the limited spaces, which are allocated on a first-come first-served basis. You must be able to ride a bike and participants must be at least 10 years old in order to keep up with the pace. While it is a relatively slow ride, there are slopes and dirt trails on Pulau Ubin to enjoy. Rent a bicycle on Pulau Ubin (and you are encouraged to rent a helmet too) or bring your own bicycles from the mainland.

Ever seen a leopard cat? Not easy to spot one but we know they do live here!

As part of our Pesta Ubin contribution, SWAG is happy to announce our Love Our Leopard Cats Educational Exhibition which highlights leopard cat ecology, distribution, and challenges. We hope that all who visit this exhibition will be inspired to take action to ensure leopard cats live and thrive in Singapore.

Visit UCares Volunteers - Free Kampung Games booth on 19 Jun 2022! Have fun learning traditional Kampung games such as Chapteh, 5 Stones, Zero Point, Hopscotch and a newly added Hula Hoop game!
